Lessons from Mojo: 5/10

Riding is just starting to kick into gear for a lot of riders. As always, staying safe while pedaling is very important. Today we are looking at two very simple but effective pieces of gear to help keep you safe; Safety Lights and Bells.

Safety lights come in all shapes and prices. A good safety light is much like a helmet, provides relatively cheap insurance. Light technology has come a long way over the years and there is no storage of options to suit your needs. Most of the lights are LED and often rechargeable. Prices for lights start around $9 and go up from there. The shop favorite is Knog Blinder Mob. This light kicks out plenty of light to warn traffic (day or night), easy to recharge, and quick attachment to the bike.

Bells are very handy and effective at warning walkers, riders, and even cars that you are there. Much lights, bells come in tons of options for shapes, materials, and prices. A popular bell this year is the Kong Oi Bell. This streamlined bell fits most bars and is loud enough to do the trick.

Do you have a favorite light or bell? Let us know in the comments below.
