Lessons from Mojo
Spokane has 4 seasons of riding and depending on preferences, your bikes may sit dormant for a few months at a time. Here are a few recommended points on the bike to check over before heading outside to ride.
Tire Pressure: Tires will lose air while sitting around. The first instinct is that you have a bad tube. Add the recommended PSI first and check the pressure after 24 hours.
Quick Release Skewers and Thru axle: Its is a very good habit to check QR and thru axle before each ride regardless of the season.
Chain Care: Dust will settle on the chain with the bike sit and start to gunk it up. Cleaning and lubing the chain will refresh the chain for the upcoming season. This is also a great time to check the shifting.
Brake Check: Double check that the brakes are working and that the braking surfaces are clean.
Sometimes it a good idea to have a second set of eyes to check over the bike. We can perform a safety check on your bike for $25. If you have any concerns or questions, stop by the shop or give us a ring at 509-443-4218.
